Registration types

Create the ticket types people buy on an event — name, price, and inventory. How to add paid or free registration types, set quantity, and hide one from the public order page.

A registration type is one of the things people can buy or sign up for on an event — a “General Admission” ticket, a “VIP” ticket, a free RSVP. Each registration type has its own name, price, and inventory, and an event can have as many as you need.

Requirements: A Guest Manager account. An existing event — see Create an event.

Add a registration type

  1. Open the event and find its Registration types section.

  2. Click Add Registration type.

  3. Fill in the form:
    • Name — what buyers see, such as General Admission or VIP.
    • Ticket Type — select an existing ticket type, or create one inline. This is required.
    • Price — the amount to charge. Enter 0 for a free registration type.
    • Quantity — how many are available. Leave it blank for no inventory limit.
    • Hide on links — check this to keep the registration type off the public order page (for example, an internal or comp ticket).
  4. Click the submit button.

The registration type is created and appears in the event’s Registration types list. It’s now available on the order page unless you checked Hide on links.

  • Create an event — set up the event that registration types attach to.
  • Event pages — build the public order page where registration types are sold.
  • Create an order — sell registration types from the backend.

FAQ

What’s the difference between a registration type and a Ticket Type?

A registration type is the sellable item on one specific event — its name, price, and inventory. A Ticket Type is a reusable category you assign to a registration type, and the same Ticket Type can be used across many events. Every registration type must have a Ticket Type.

Can one event have several registration types?

Yes. Add a registration type for each option you sell — for example, General Admission, VIP, and a free RSVP all on the same event.

How do I change a registration type after creating it?

Open it from the event’s Registration types list and edit it. The edit screen exposes more settings than the quick-add form.

Why doesn’t a registration type appear on the order page?

Check whether Hide on links is enabled for it. A hidden registration type is still sellable from the backend but is left off the public order page.
