An event is the foundation for everything else in Guest Manager — tickets, registrations, and check-in all hang off it. This covers the most common case: a single event on one day. For events that span multiple days or repeat on a schedule, see Multiple events.

Requirements: A Guest Manager account. A venue with a time zone — you can create one inline during this flow.

Create the event

  1. Click Add Event.

  2. Enter the four required fields:
    • Name — the public event name.
    • Venue — select an existing venue, or type a new name and click Add [venue]. For a new venue, set its time zone in the popup and save. The time zone drives every date on the event, so set it correctly.
    • Start date and time.
    • End date and time.
  3. Click Save.

The event is created and opens to its detail page. Add registration types to start selling tickets or collecting RSVPs — see Add registration types and tickets.

  • Multiple events — add several dates or a repeating schedule to one event (tours, festivals, recurring classes).
  • Event page and settings — registration types, ticket design, and per-event options.

FAQ

Can I change the date or time after creating the event?

Yes. Open the event and edit its date, time, or any other field. Existing tickets update automatically.

What time zone do the dates use?

The venue’s time zone. If dates display in the wrong zone, check the venue — open it and confirm the time zone field. Changing the venue’s time zone updates all events at that venue.

When should I use multiple events instead?

Use Multiple events when several dates share the same settings (ticket designs, registration types) — a weekend festival, a multi-session conference, or a recurring class. If your event runs across two days but you only check attendees in once, a single event is simpler.

Do I need a venue?

Yes — the venue supplies the time zone for the event’s dates. You can create one inline by typing the name and clicking Add, then setting the time zone. The remaining venue fields (address, capacity) are optional.
