The Check-In app scans tickets with the built-in camera on any iPhone or iPad. For faster check-in at large events, it also pairs with two external laser scanners: Linea Pro and Socket Mobile.
Requirements: A device running iOS 18 or later (iPhone or iPad). External laser scanners are optional.
Linea Pro
A Linea Pro sled clamps onto an iPhone like a case and adds a hardware trigger and laser scan engine. This is the scanner Guest Manager uses and rents.
- Choose a model with a 2D barcode reader. A 1D-only model cannot scan QR codes or Apple Wallet passes.
Socket Mobile
Socket Mobile is an external Bluetooth scanner that pairs with any iPhone or iPad. It suits a static check-in station operated at a desk or kiosk rather than a roaming line.
Built-in camera
A laser scanner is not required. The Check-In app scans and validates tickets with the built-in camera on any supported iPhone or iPad — no extra hardware. Camera scanning is slower than a laser scanner and uses more battery, so laser scanners are the better choice for high-volume entry.

FAQ
Can I use a Zebra, Honeywell, Newland, or other generic barcode scanner?
No. The Check-In app integrates only with Linea Pro and Socket Mobile scanners. Generic USB or Bluetooth barcode scanners, Zebra, Koamtac, CTA Digital, Newland, and Unitech units are not supported. Use the built-in camera if you don’t have a Linea Pro or Socket Mobile.
Which scanner should I choose for a large event?
A Linea Pro with a hardware trigger is fastest for a moving entry line. Socket Mobile works well for a seated desk or kiosk where attendees come to the scanner.
