Event Ticketing has two charges: a fixed monthly plan fee and a per-ticket usage charge for every ticket you sell. Both appear on your regular Shopify bill as app charges — Shopify bills them, not us.
Requirements: The Event Ticketing app installed and a plan selected. Plan and rate are shown under Plans in the app.
What you pay
Each plan combines a monthly fee with a per-ticket rate. The higher the plan, the lower the per-ticket rate.
| Plan | Monthly fee | Per ticket sold | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| On Demand | $0 | $1.00 | None |
| Advanced | $19 | $0.75 | 3 days |
| Professional | $99 | $0.50 | 10 days |
| Plus+ | $999 | $0.25 | None |
All prices are in USD. On Demand has no monthly fee — you only pay when you sell a ticket.
How charges appear
Event Ticketing fees show up as app charges on your monthly Shopify bill, alongside your other app subscriptions. We never handle your money: Shopify runs checkout, pays you out on your normal schedule, and we ask Shopify to record a usage charge when a ticket sells.
One usage charge per line item
A usage charge is recorded per line item on an order, not per ticket and not per order. The charge amount is the per-ticket rate multiplied by the line item’s quantity.
So if a customer buys 4 of the same ticket type in one order on the Advanced plan, that’s one line item, and you see one charge of $3.00 (4 × $0.75) — not four separate charges. If the order mixes two ticket types, that’s two line items, so you see two charges.
Each charge is labelled with the quantity, ticket name, and order number, so you can match it back to the order that produced it.
When you’re charged
The usage charge is recorded when the ticket is issued. Charges made during a plan’s free trial aren’t billed.
Credits cover no-cost tickets
Tickets that don’t cost the buyer money — free tickets and tickets imported from a spreadsheet — aren’t charged the per-ticket fee. Instead they cost 1 credit to issue and 1 credit to scan.
Paid plans include a monthly credit allowance, and you can buy more credit packs at any time from Plans → Purchase credits. View your current balance and history from the same screen.

FAQ
Why does my bill show fewer charges than tickets sold?
Charges are counted per line item, not per ticket. One line item for 5 of the same ticket type is a single charge for 5× the rate. Multiple ticket types on one order produce one charge each.
Is the per-ticket fee a percentage of the ticket price?
No. It’s a flat amount per ticket sold, set by your plan, regardless of what the ticket costs the buyer.
Do free tickets cost anything?
They don’t incur the per-ticket dollar fee. Each free or imported ticket uses 1 credit to issue and 1 to scan. If you run out of credits, buy more from Plans → Purchase credits or move to a higher plan.
Why is there a spending limit on app charges?
Shopify caps how much an app can charge you per billing period. If your ticket sales would exceed that limit, you’re asked to raise it before more tickets can be sold. See App spending limit approval.
Can I get a refund on a usage charge?
Refunding an order’s tickets credits the associated usage charge. See Refunding a subscription or charge.
